Pi Ruahe drawing with both hands respectfully, looking at Jiang g with a fused expression. "Dr. Jiang, are y to find someone?"
Jiang g nodded and replied, "Through your es, see if we locate these two women."
"Are they in Rongg?"
"I don’t know," Jiang g answered. "They could be in any city."
Pi Ruan pouted and carefully examihe drawings. "If they are nearby, it’s easy, but if they’re in a very remote area, it would be difficult."
He paused for a moment, wedging the broer bag under his arm, and looked up at Jiang g, tinuing to ask, "Any other clues? Like their identity, is, profession, anything?"
Finding someoh just a sketch is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
"No," Jiang g replied.
Hearing this, Pi Ruan's face showed a flicted expression.
"Not specifically," Jiang g added after a brief pause, "but I have some guesses you sider."
Pi Ruan eagerly nodded. "Please, go ahead."
"The women in the first three drawings are probably between 18 and 23 years old. They are likely uy students maj in sce," Jiang g said, leaning ba the sofa, thinking and recalling Xiaomeng. "They would be good students, but not outstanding. They won’t have exaggerated honors appearing in school neers or websites."
"They may frequently take leave or leave early. Their retionships with teachers and cssmates are average, and they tend to keep to themselves."
"Also," Jiang g looked at Pi Ruan, who was jotting things doidly in his small notebook, and said seriously, "She doesn't live in the publiitory arranged by the school, a name is not ."
The Fatty carefully thought about Jiang g’s words and leasantly surprised to find that he could uand some of it. This was definitely progress.
"The sed woman’s information is less, and her age range is probably between 25 and 35. Her fiips have thick calluses, and her fingers are slightly muscur and strong. She should be someone who skillfully py a musical instrument like the piano. She is introverted and doesn’t like to be in the spotlight."
Jiang g paused and tinued, "She likely has little experience perf at major events or certs, and her occupation is retively hidden."
"The search should focus on private tutors or piano tuners, and she probably doesn’t have the st name Li."
Hearing this, the Fatty couldn’t help but feel even more certain that he had made the right choice by following Jiang g. Given the doctor’s brainpower, it would be quite hard for a nightmare—or a ‘teammate’ in the nightmare—to kill him.
He began seriously sidering whether to add a hearty dish for the doctor tonight.
Pi Ruan, who had already written a whole page and was about to turn the page, didn’t shoarticur expression on his face, as if he had bee used to Jiang g’s performance.
He looked up at Jiang g and asked, "Dr. Jiang, what if we find them?"
"It has nothing to do with you."
Pi Ruan didn’t seem upset. After putting the drawings and notebook bato the broer bag, he nodded. "I uand."
Without saying more, he turned and was about to leave.
As he was about to exit, he seemed to remember that there was another person in the room and turned back to greet the Fatty before leaving.
When Pi Ruan pletely disappeared from view, the Fatty looked at Jiang g, who was zily sprawled on the sofa.
"Doctor," he sighed in admiration, "you are truly impressive!"
Jiang g stretched his stiff neck, picked up the cup of water, and took a small sip.
The afternoon sunlight poured in, and for a moment, the se seemed almost sacred.
For a brief moment, the Fatty suddenly felt like he had seen through the man in front of him.
He no longer cared to disguise himself.
Strong, mysterious, noble, dreamy— even his messy hair seemed to have a soul. Indeed, he was a beast r through the world, why would he lower himself here?
"Fatty," Jiang g said slowly.
The Fatty was taken by surprise. "Doctor, I’m here!"
"Don’t call me impressive from now on, uand?"
The Fatty froze.
"After all, you haven’t seen me in the presidential suite at night." Jiang g seemed to reminisce about those glorious days aedly said, "I was the only oo get promoted to full-time before the probation period ehe top star of the high-end group! I once..."
Just as Jiang g was animatedly talking about how he single-handedly doubled the revenue of a KTV, the door suddenly opened, and Pi Ruan half of his body leaned in.
The Fatty felt like he had been pardoned.
"You’re back?" Jiang g seemed unhappy about Pi Ruan interrupting him.
"Dr. Jiang," Pi Ruan smiled, "I just saw Boss Lin’s car outside, so I thought I’d ask if she came by?"
"No."
"Then I’ll leave you to it," Pi Ruan withdrew his head, still in the same humble posture.
Wearing sungsses, when Pi Ruan poked his head in, the Fatty thought he had run into a robber.
Jiang g, interrupted by Pi Ruan, seemed to lose i. He tidied up his messy clothes, crossed his legs on the sofa, and mumbled something under his breath.
The Fatty didn’t dare to stay any lrabbing the basket, he used buyiables as an excuse and slipped away.
Left alone, Jiang g first leaned ba the sofa for a rest, then seemingly out of boredom, started fiddling with his phone. He didn’t search for those familiar Japanese girlfriends but slowly opehe photo album.
Sorted by time, he scrolled to the most ret photos.
Specifically, four sketches.
He clicked on one of them. It was a very young woman, the hem of her dress fluttering in the wind, pyful yet full of life— at least she looked like an i girl.
Jiang g extewo fingers and slowly zoomed in on the s, enrging the photo until only the woman’s eyes remained on the s.
Through the s, the two pairs of eyes stared at each other.
As the afternoon sunlight gradually faded and the spots of light no longer shone brightly, the room grew dim in the silence.
----
"Buzz."
"Buzz."
A hand reached for the phone, and as it ened, an anxious voice came through: "Why didn’t you go to the exam? Professor Sun called me about it!"
The girl was lying on a huge bed, covered by a soft white quilt. Her messy hair spread out on the pillow, looking like a ferocious octopus.
She yawned, her eyes half-closed as if she was still in a dream. After thinking for a moment, she replied, "Uncle Gong, I’m sick."
"Don’t give me that! You said the same thing st week!"
"This time I’m really sick," the girl said shamelessly, then coughed a few times symbolically.
The man, called Uncle Gong, seemed helpless and sighed, "Alright, alright, no more excuses. If it happens again..."
"By the way," the girl suddenly interrupted him, sitting up. "Uncle Gong, how’s the thing I asked you to do?"
