Chapter 61: Disappearance

  Transtor: der Transtions

  --------

As everyoared at Luo Yi, his expression gradually became unnatural.

In the end, it was Jiang g who stepped forward, saying that filming riority, and everything else could wait until they returned.

Pushing the door open, the group was greeted with a headache-indug se.

The spausic acked with people, and many students without csses had squeezed in to see the otion.

At a gnce, youthful faces filled the room.

But at this moment, an uneasy feeling hung in the air.

The chatter among the crowd was incessant, and the student leaders trying to maintain order were running around, looking exhausted.

It wasn't until a female teacher in charge of the lighting lost her temper that the situation improved somewhat.

  There were two cameras.

The one capable of capturing ghosts was in Jiang g’s hands, while the other was slung behind Yu Wen.

Holding the camera, Jiang g looked at everyone and asked, “Should I take the lead, or do you want to?”

A tripod was already set up nearby.

No one reached out to take the camera or replied.

Everyone khat Long Tao had died right after filming the choir, using that very camera.

Rec from her shock, Zhang Yinyin even shot Jiang g a gnce filled with hostility.

But Jiang g caught her with his keen eyes.

He stretched his neck, staring directly at Zhang Yinyin, and asked in a rhythmical tone, “Miss Zhang, do you want to give it a try?”

“No, no…” Zhang Yinyin hurriedly waved her hands, “I don’t.”

Thanks to their previous experiehis filming sessio very smoothly.

The first three groups' performances quickly cluded.

  The grand finale chorus began.

Yu Wen took off her camera bag, pulled out the sed camera, a up the tripod o the first one.

As she tinually adjusted the angles, all three groups were captured in the frame.

The three groups of girls stood on the choir stage, their order shuffled and intermingled.

From a distahey were strikingly simir i, hairstyle, and attire, almost eerily resembling one person.

The singing was sometimes gentle, sometimes powerful, and uhe ductuidahe final note soared to a climax.

In stark trast to the lively atmosphere of the performahe mood among the produ crew was tense.

Zhou Taifu's face went pale as he trembled untrolbly, staring at the camera s. “Where is everyone?! Why are they missing?!”

The images dispyed on both cameras were identical.

There were 48 people on stage.

The additional figure was o be found.

  No, it was a ghost!

  The ghost was gone.

Zhen Jianren gritted his teeth, snatched the camera, and turo walk out.

He took the one capable of capturing ghosts.

After the sed rehearsal ehe students and the teachers responsible for equipment and lighting gradually left.

As they stepped out of the music , they iently noticed that a camera oi them from around the er outside.

Jiang g and the others expihat they hoped to gather some behind-the-ses footage.

“Thank you, everyone,” Feng Lan said as she dragged her weary body over after seeing off the st group of teachers.

She first g Luo Yi to firm he was still there.

Theurned her gaze to Yu Wen, “Miss Yu,” her voice sounding a bit strange, “ I talk to you privately for a moment?”

“Just say what you o here,” Yu Wen replied indifferently.

  “Here…”

  “Is it inve?”

“No,” Feng Lan quickly shook her head. She looked down the corridor and saw that most people had left, with only a few remaining who weren’t paying attention.

So she turned back, lowered her voice, and spoke quickly, her expression mysterious, “Have you… been to the equipmeer?”

Yu Wen’s expression finally ged, but it was only for a moment before returning to normal. “Yes, we stored our equipment there before ing.”

“You absolutely must not go there again,” Feng Lan seemed somewhat anxious.

  “Why?”

Upon heariion of the equipmeer, Zhen Jianren could no longer tain himself, after all, he was the man who had been painted by a ghost.

“I don’t know the details, but you should just avoid it; people at the school are all steering clear of there,” Feng Lan whispered, her voice getting softer, “If the school leaders find out you’ve been there, they won’t be happy.”

Yu Wen pondered for a moment and nodded, “Uood, thank you.”

“Well, I’ll leave first. You should get some rest too.”

  “Goodbye.”

Once Feng Lan had walked away quickly, Zhen Jianren, seemingly unvinced, lifted the camera and aimed it at her back.

Unfortunately, there was nothing unusual to capture.

They had filmed almost everyone present that day, but the extra girl was still o be found.

That ghost seemed to have vanished into thin air.

Zhen Jianren’s expression grew even darker; he had already been targeted by the ghost, and who knew, maybe sed, he would end up like Long Tao or the girl in the gsam, having his jaw torn off by the ghost.

At this moment, Yu Wen stepped forward and said to him, “Let’s go back; this isn’t a pce for discussion.”

It was already past 3 PM.

Taking advantage of the still-bright daylight, Jiang g insisted on going to the cafeteria to eat.

He had been eyeing the menu posted outside sinoon.

By 4 PM, dishes like braised pork, bck pepper steak, shredded chi in Si style, and spicy duck heads were being served.

“You guys go ahead and order,” Zhen Jianren casually found a table to sit down.

His inal pn was to just buy some bread or something at the supermarket to fill his stomach.

But Jiang g enced him to think positively, as it could very well be their st meal.

Just as Zhen Jianren picked up his chopsticks, he fumbled, nearly dropping them on the floor.

“You all eat,” Zhen Jianren put down the chopsticks, “I’m not hungry.”

The others were also eating in a detached manner, only taking a few bites while looking worried.

It was clear that only Jiang g was eatiily; he polished off two big bowls of rid even packed ara serving of spicy duck heads for ter.

“I really admire you,” Zhou Taifu said, following behind Jiang g, almost on the verge of tears. “How you still eat at a time like this?”

Strangely, the disappearance of the ghost left them feeling even more uled than its appearance had.

“What does my eating have to do with the ghost?” Jiang g replied, holding the duck heads in one hand and a rge bottle of iced red tea iher. “I’m eating for myself, I’m still growing, not for the ghost.”

Zhou Taifu thought for a while and couldn’t find anything to refute that.

Ohey returo the dormitory, Yu Wen stopped Luo Yi, who was heading back to his room.

As everyoched him in silence, Luo Yi’s nervousness became apparent agai on a chair in room 406.

The chair ced in the ter, surrounded by everyone.

It was like an animal in a zoo.

“I know what you all want to know,” Luo Yi sighed, “But yoing to be disappoihe archives didn’t have anything, just some old books and dots.”

  “Just some books and dots?”

  Luo Yi nodded, “Yes.”

Yu Wen’s face showed no expression, but her tourned slightly cold, “Then why did they want to capture you?”
