“Fuck this shit!” Ethan smmed the screen shut in frustration. “These weak combat spells won't help me defend myself. I need allies. I have to use [Demonic Conversion] and [Perfect Hypnosis] on some strong targets to build my own army. I must depend on them for my defense.” He paused for a moment. “But I wonder where my reincarnation spell is. Was that just a one-time thing?” During those long, tedious hours at the office, Ethan dreamed of leaving everything behind and starting anew in a different world. In this new world, he imagined becoming a swordmaster or perhaps a knight, defeating his enemies while riding a white horse. He dreamt about conquering the demon lord and rescuing the princess. Then, he and the princess would live happily ever after. However, when he actually transmigrated to a new world, he found himself as a demonic dungeon boss with mind-control powers. Nothing could be more out of pce than this. While pondering this, Ethan recalled a crucial detail from the first status screen he had encountered after regaining full consciousness. In that screen, the term ‘talent’ was mentioned. “Oh… Do I have something beyond spells in my arsenal?” he murmured. “Well, let’s see. [Talents]” The talent's screen appeared before him. Ethan’s purple eyes lit up in excitement as he carefully read through it. [Reincarnation]: The Prince of Darkness exists in the realm beyond life and death. After dying from unnatural causes, the Prince of Darkness rises again with full health and mana. Reincarnation cannot occur more than once in a single day. [Rage]: Upon [Reincarnation], the Prince of Darkness enters a state of rage and unleashes it on his victims, increasing his spell amplification by three times for a brief period. [Master of Magic]: As the originator of magic, the Prince of Darkness can learn and employ any magical spell, regardless of its type or element. The Prince of Darkness is also capable of creating customized, unique spells. [Natural Attunement]: The Prince of Darkness experiences increased passive mana and health regeneration from his close connection with Nature. [Eye of Providence]: The all-seeing eye of the Prince of Darkness penetrates any deception spells or invisibility and offers basic information about allies or enemies when activated. [Self-conciousness]: The Prince of Darkness is free from divine or demonic influence. The Prince has free will and is the maker of his own fate. “Okay, now we’re talking!” Ethan excimed excitedly. “So, the talents function more like passive skills and are closely tied to my css. This expins how I came back to life after dying once in combat. My [Rage] talent amplified my spells to the point that the adventurer party couldn't handle it.” He felt relieved. “My css isn’t too bad for a spellcaster. I can learn new spells and create my own unique spells as well.” But his excitement evaporated quickly as he remembered he was still stuck inside a dungeon. “I need to get out of here. Otherwise, people will just keep attacking me until they kill me. It’s just a matter of time. At this point, I am not confident about defending myself alone, and while I am inside the dungeon, I can't even gather allies.” Ethan thought to himself. “Once I get out of here, I should avoid trouble until I grow stronger and gather allies. I need to travel the world to find powerful companions,” Ethan murmured. “First things first, I need a way out of here.” He looked around, trying to think of a way to escape the dungeon. His gaze fell on the heap of dead adventurers. Now that Ethan was aware of his spells, he understood that he had used [Mind Fre] on them to extract information. Their low-level brains could not tolerate it, and the process failed in most cases, leaving them brain-dead before he killed and devoured their flesh. Suddenly, an idea struck Ethan. He recalled that those adventurers called him the ‘st boss’ of the dungeon. Typically, in RPGs, the dungeon’s st boss is the strongest and pys a crucial role in the storyline. Often, dungeons are named after their st boss. Ethan should have some authority over the dungeon itself if he is its st boss. He might even be able to unlock the dungeon’s gate from within. Without further ado, he used the command, “[Gate]”. A distortion in space started shaping up in front of him. It soon settled down and looked like an oval-shaped portal. “As I thought, I have authority over everything inside here,” Ethan murmured. He sceptically tried to enter the portal but was blocked by an invisible wall. At the same time, a status window popped in front of him. This one was not like the normal blue colored screen. Instead, this one was red, and it showed. “Warning: Attempted dungeon breach detected. Dungeon monsters cannot go outside the perimeter until a [Dungeon Break] happens.” “Hmm. That’s what I thought. It’s not that straightforward.” Ethan thought. “It makes sense; a dungeon’s st boss can’t just step outside the dungeon. There have to be some conditions. And this [Dungeon Break] is that condition.” “Expin [Dungeon Break],” he commanded. The red colored screen went off, and in its pce, a blue screen appeared. It read Dungeon Appendix [Dungeon Break]: If a dungeon is defended by its denizens long enough, it becomes a part of the outside world. Once that happens, the barrier between the dungeon realm and the outside world breaks down, enabling the denizens to venture outside the dungeon. This phenomenon is called Dungeon Break. Use [Dungeon Status] to get more details about the current dungeon. “Well, that's interesting. That means adventurers are not able to ignore the dungeons either. They must clear them within a specific timeframe. Otherwise, the dungeon monsters will start running wild in the open world.” Ethan thought to himself. “So, I must wait until the dungeon break happens to get out of here. And till then, I need to defend the dungeon as the final boss.” Ethan realized he needed to know more about his dungeon and when the [Dungeon Break] would happen. He used the command “[Dungeon Status].” The screen changed again, and words appeared like a command-line interface. Assessing the user’s authority… The user has been assessed as the Dungeon Master of the current dungeon…. Access granted to view [Dungeon Status]…. Dungeon Status Dungeon Name: Hope’s EndDungeon Rank: SilverNumber of Bosses: 1Time remaining till Dungeon Break: 3 years 5 monthsNumber of unsuccessful attempts: 1 For each unsuccessful clearance attempt, the remaining time for the Dungeon Break will be reduced by a year. Refer to the [Dungeon Edit] menu to customize your Dungeon. “The single unsuccessful attempt has to be from those adventurers. So, that means I need to defend this dungeon successfully four more times to trigger [Dungeon Break].” Ethan thought. At the same time, another possibility came to his mind. “But what if nobody comes to attack? In that case, I have to wait here for three and a half years!” “No, no, no. I can’t wait that long. There has to be some other way.” He tried to encourage himself. “Wait! Didn’t the adventurers try to escape using some crystals during the fight? Maybe I can try the same.” He went to the remains of the pile of adventurers' bodies and tried searching for that item. As Ethan searched, he realized once again that he was no longer a human. Instead of remorse or sadness, he felt a primordial hunger creeping into his psyche—a hunger for human flesh. It was as if he was searching for something within his food. Even though the bodies started to stink at this point, the smell did nothing to subdue his hunger. Ethan shook his head. “Focus…I have to focus. I can deal with my hunger afterward. I have to figure out how to get out of here first.” He said to himself, resisting the urge to indulge in pleasure. But even after a frantic search, he could not find any crystals on their bodies. He was about to give up when he suddenly caught some movement out of the corner of his eye. He quickly turned his head and saw a female elf lying nearby. Ethan remembered her; she was Alicia, one of the healers at the adventure party. He remembered she was a strong-willed one. Her mind held on long enough for him to go through all her memories. But in the end, she also lost her mind like others. Ethan threw her body away once he was done with her. And just after that, he received the level-up notification, which returned his consciousness. Her body was now lying a bit separated from the pile of other bodies, limp and unresponsive. Saliva dripping from her open mouth. Her deep blue eyes remained wide open, staring at nothingness. Ethan thought she was dead. But in front of his eyes, her body twitched again, the same twitching he caught before, from the corner of his eyes. “Oh! Is she still alive?” Ethan chuckled, “Maybe I can still use her”. He approached her and examined her body. She was breathing, but it was very shallow. He gazed at her face. She had unique white hair, a sharp facial structure, and beautiful blue eyes. Although her eyes are lifeless now, they haven’t fully lost their charm. By human standards, she was a beauty. Ethan opened her vest and searched for the crystal in its pockets. The white top she was wearing underneath was tight and did very little to hide the shape of her breasts. A carnal desire of lust clouded Ethan’s mind as he stared at her chest. He felt a deep urge to abuse and viote her. Ethan struggled to restrain himself as his cw tore open her top, revealing her cleavage and undergarments. But just as he did that, two crystals fell on the ground from an inside pocket of her top. Ethan’s mind jolted back to his senses. He let out a sigh of relief as he felt his frenziness dissipate. “My God! Being a demon is not easy. I have to keep myself in check.” He picked up one the crystals. “So this is a teleportation crystal! She was hiding them.” He grabbed the crystal in one hand and, without any dey, chanted, “[Teleport].” To his disappointment, a red screen appeared before him. A soulbound item can only be used by its owner. “Oh, come on,” Ethan exhaled in frustration, looking at the red screen before him. He sat down on the floor feeling hopeless. “Do I really have to wait till someone else attacks me again?” he murmured. “I guess I don’t have any other choice. I have to use [Demonic Conversion] on her. ” In front of his eyes, Alicia’s body twitched once again. Ethan’s eyes glowed in a purple hue looking at her. “Shit, if I dont do anything she is going to die soon. I don’t have time to calcute all the pros and cons. I will take the gample.” He got up and walked up to her limp body. Pointing his cwed hand towards Alicia, Ethan cast, “[Demonic Conversion]”. Immediately, a blue screen appeared before him. Assessing the target’s resistance level. Target’s resistance level is within an acceptable range. [Demonic Conversion] is possible for the target. Do you want to proceed? “Yes”, Ethan confirmed. Proceeding with [Demonic Conversion]. Ethan felt a strong draining force as if something is sucking all energy out of him. As the process continued, he became a bit scared. He felt it was taking away too much of his energy. When he was thinking about stopping the process, the energy-draining stopped. A golden aura engulphed Alicia’s body, and she was lifted in the air. Her arms and legs were separated and spread on both sides. Assessing the target’s capabilities… Suggesting possible conversion sub-types based on current combat type… Avaible conversion sub-types are [Lamia]: Humanoid demons with shapeshifting capabilities. Able to use defensive spells of various kinds. [Succubus]: Humanoid demons with mastery of sexual manipution techniques. Able to use various types of buffs and debuffs. Please select a conversion subtype. Ethan chuckled, seeing the options before him. “It’s an easy choice. [Lamia]” [Lamia] Conversion subtype selected. Proceeding with conversion. The golden aura surrounding Alicia’s body shone brighter than ever as her form slowly transformed. Her clothes tore away as her size increased. The shape of her legs changed; they now resembled those of rge reptilians like dinosaurs, with three razor-sharp cws in the front and another at the back of her feet. Her tailbone elongated into a fully developed reptilian tail. Her pale white body was covered in small, sky-blue colored scales. Two jagged horns formed on her temples and bent backward as they grew. The nails on her hands also proliferated, forming five sets of sharp cws. Ethan watched in awe as her transformation reached completion, and she finally opened her eyes.
