281. Stories of Gigantes

While he was talking, he didn’t stop my ability to think, and I wasn’t so arrogant that I couldn’t listen to the words of someone that is supposed to be family and was sent here to help me.

Especially since he made sure to explain that he wasn’t here to make me do something I didn’t want to do, he was just providing advice. He might’ve been a bit blunt with his advice with calling me a weakling and all that, but if there was anyone allowed to speak that way towards me without the members of my clan calling for bloody murder, it would be him, another Patriarch.

One that Vrusha was apparently aware of, which I guess isn’t too surprising. Either way, I listened to all he said and although I’m pretty sure he could read my mind, he was giving me plenty of time to get my thoughts in order.

As much as I don’t want to, I couldn’t help but agree with this giant bastard of a sibling.

I could literally see him smirk as that last thought crossed my mind which pretty much confirmed he was reading it, and clearly not having enough shame to even pretend like he was looking.

Is this the type of annoyance that only a sibling can bring out that I used to hear about from other people?

Ignoring him, I continued to think about what he said and well yeah…I was the big fish in a small pond and went to the ocean thinking it would be more of the same. On three different occasions since I left, I’ve been embarrassed in some way.

Firstly, that bald mermaid man who pushed my flame back without so much as a blink and could clearly kill before Lidaz or anyone could do anything about it.

Then Frian was forced to kneel and thought he was doing me a favor by not fighting back. Not long after that, both him and Lirian were kidnapped and if it wasn’t for Rellia just happening to be there when she did, we would all probably be dead right now.

I am too weak to be here.

Of course Immortals could clearly already visit Earth, but they weren’t walking around there like ants in the way they were here, and I was already in control of the entire planet. Plus he was right about the Dungeons, I didn’t need him to tell me that.

That weird monkey king one was still waiting for me even now and who knows what else the planet has to offer that I ignored so readily. I only ever visited the System Cities and not everywhere else.

The existence of the ants should’ve been enough of a sign to let me know Earth still had much more to offer.

  Sigh

Should I really just go back?

At that point I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind and looked at man before me once more.

“Was it like that for you?”

He looked at me oddly for a second then started laughing. It was a booming kind of laugh that didn’t affect me personally, but it was like the ‘nothingness’ around us quaked under the pressure.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

I’m not even sure how that was possible.

“Was it like that for me huh. It was not. You know what, why not tell you, perhaps it will help you make a decision.

“The race I share features with is are known as Gigantes. There’s actually a few of them here in this Universe but on a different planet. Anyway, I was born on their mother planet, the first time they appeared in the known Universe, for the most part they were not a particularly advanced race and to some extent they still aren’t to this day.

“As you can assume by my size little brother, we were massive in size compared to most other humanoids, but among the other Gigantes, I was a runt. I was shorter, weaker, and less of a fighter than any of my peers.

“Gigantes was a race of brawlers and because they were always far larger than I. I was scorned, and even my own family did not associate with me too deeply.

“Then the Tutorial arrived and with it came the descent of Qi. Even then I still had no idea what I really was, but I knew without a doubt that I was different from the others far more than I ever realized. Qi clung to me…it was never a chore to climb the ranks of Cultivation and where others faced roadblocks, I found open doors.

“It didn’t take me very long to make sure those who wronged me learned the error of their ways. Those days were some of the most fun I’ve ever had little brother. I was deemed a criminal and had to run all over the planet hiding from unfavorable situations and killing those who underestimated me.

“Fighting tooth and nail, jumping in Dungeons just to escape a problem and coming out stronger than the problem I left behind, it was great. Then everything changed. Unlike you, no one discovered who I was in the Tutorial and it wasn’t until a year passed afterwards that the Infernals finally came to me.

“Let’s just say the Elder who found me had a temper shorter than most Infernals. The Gigantes still remember that dark day when an entire continent was bathed in Eternal Flames.

“If I didn’t stop him, I’m pretty sure Gigantes would no longer be a known race today. From there I was taken straight back to Planet Infernal where I built my clan in relative ease and safety and I didn’t leave the planet again until I became an Immortal.

“By then my clan was strong and life wasn’t as fun anymore for a while. I had to essentially run away from those weirdos to have any fun again. There’s nothing like being on the run being chased by people stronger than you.

“Regardless, the point is things went differently for me, but there are others whose faced far more danger or had it easier than both of us. For example….”

He paused and looked around frantically for a moment before speaking in a whisper.

  “The Eldest was-”

He didn’t get to finish his sentence as his entire body was literally set aflame that very instant and it burned away for a few seconds before he raised his hand with an annoyed expression.

“Fine fine, well if you want to know that story then you’ll have to ask the Eldest yourself either way, we are all different and we all do whatever it is we want to do. Even now there is no right or wrong decision for you to make here.

“You are a son of Chaos and your steps, wherever they lead you are always the right path, regardless of anything I told you.”

He stopped there as if remembering something and then continuing.

“Before I forget, your still weak little brother, but your family and your people aren’t. That person you were thinking about that dared to touch your flames? There’s a price for that. The Eternal Flame is never to be trampled upon.”

Seeming satisfied with himself, he continued once more.

“Of course I’m satisfied, it’s been a while since I’ve said something like that. People don’t really mess with me these days, you know? Even coming here is like the most exciting thing I’ve done in a while. The Vamp war hasn’t even picked up enough for me to jump in yet, plus another one of our siblings called dibs on it. Selfish brat.

“Anyway, I will give you a few days to make your decision…uh let’s say three. Yeah three days. I will visit you once again, and you can either turn me away, ask to be sent into isolation for 1000 years or be taken back to Earth.”

The bald giant for a brother didn’t even give me a chance to agree or not before I was standing near my meditation room with Vrusha looking as if he hadn’t moved a step the entire time.
