Before leaving Planet Infernal, Lidaz could on one hand just how many times he had truly been enraged and still have four fingers left over.
But it appeared that leaving Planet Inferno and meeting up with his Patriarch was the signal for the universe to begin sending problems his way, and to be quite honest, the clan had experienced many different things since he joined it, but this was a first.
Usually, after dealing with a problem once, there would not be a second time. It appeared that was not the case this time around.
Lidaz knew that anyone who left the confines of their stronghold would be without protection at an immortal level and could always face danger. That was acceptable. Of course, if the danger was unfounded and unprovoked, or hell, even if it was, the clan would retaliate with full force.
But for members of the clan to be kidnapped. Kidnapped.
If it were not for the fact that the Patriarch was busy completing his breakthrough, Lidaz would have exploded in anger and bathed the world in the fury of an Immortal Infernal.
Fortunately, he had enough sense not to do that, if only for the safety of his Patriarch.
But something had to be done.
What choices did he really have?
He was the only immortal of the clan, so automatically his options were limited. He knew just as well as the other members of the clan that sending anyone below the Immortal Realm would be nothing short of suicide. This was not a situation where simple numbers could make up the gap between cultivation realms.
This was the sort of thing where only an extremely talented cultivator in the Nascent Soul Realm might bridge the gap using special means, and even that was unlikely. Not unless you were the Patriarch of an Infernal clan and could call upon chaos incarnate itself.
But none of them were the Patriarch.
Which meant none of them could do that.
Thus, the only option Lidaz had was to go himself, or at least that was the only option from a clan perspective.
There was one more option. Perhaps two more, neither of which he wanted to consider.
The easier of the two was to do nothing. To accept that his people, the Patriarch’s people, had been kidnapped and that he chose to do nothing.
That feeling was unbearable.
He had chosen to do nothing once already, and although the Patriarch did not scold or criticize him, in his mind that was how it felt. Being told that no matter what happened, they would fight to the last man if it came to that, and yet he had done nothing.
That was not an option he could afford again.
At the same time, asking their guest for help, someone who was not a part of the clan, was not high on his priority list either. That was not how a clan behaved. Matters of the clan were handled by the clan.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Of course, all of that went out the window if the Patriarch himself went to her and asked for help. If that happened, who was he to argue?
But if the decision lay in his hands, he wanted to keep clan matters within the clan as much as possible.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place, he had no choice but to move.
Going by himself against one or more immortals was not a good idea. Not because he was afraid. Far from it. He would fight a million enemies by himself if that was what his Patriarch ordered.
But the lives of his fellow members were at stake.
Both Lirian’s and Frian’s lives were at stake.
Lidaz cursed, then made his way toward Rellia’s lodging.
A few moments later, he was sitting across from her.
Some might say he should have simply come out with what he needed, considering this was an emergency, and they would be right if this were Raizen himself speaking, or if Lidaz were talking to another member of the clan.
When representing the clan, it had to be down properly. Especially to another Infernal.
“it is not my wish to involve with the matters of the clan, but the Patriarch is unavailable and in following the instructions he last left me, I am making the decision to bring an emergency to your attention.”
By now Rellia was on full alert.
She understood than a member of a clan coming to ask for favors and help wasn’t rally something that happened back on Planet Infernal. Though in the few cases were it did, it would usually be to another clan, not individual Infernal cultivators…
The clans didn’t ignore people like her and there would be plenty of opportunities to work for and with the clan in question, but being asked for help outright? Practically unheard of. At least to her.
Though…this was no ordinary clan.
It wasn’t even a century old as of yet…she had no idea how new clans operated since she wasn’t alive when any of them before this one first came into existence but…this seemed to make some sense.
Lidaz continued.
“Around 100 members of our clan have been kidnapped by a local cultivator. Two of which are the first two people the Patriarch invited into his clan and bestowed the Eternal Flame. I do not fear running to the jaws of death to fight the enemies of my clan but not being able to truly punish those who dared to touch us whilst still keeping my people safe is not a pain I can live with.
“Even worse…if one of them were to die, I would be able to look my Patriarch in the eye any longer…”
Rellia was already a standing before Lidaz finished and a weighty spear landing in her hands from seemingly nowhere.
“Speak no more Lidaz. Do not ask the question you wish to. Someone dared to touch Infernals, so I will handle it of my own free will. Will you join me?”
Lidaz nodded sternly, not missing the meaning in the words of Rellia. He would repay that debt in due time…but for now. Death. Nothing but death and all manner of murderous thoughts clouded his mind…well most of his mind.
He made sure to alert the entire clan and every single Infernal still in the stronghold immediately stopped what they were doing and swarmed around the Patriarchs cultivation chamber as if their life depending on it.
Not even a grain of sand would be able to get pass them with being dissected thrice over, burned to nothingness then questioned immediately after…
Once that was done, Lidaz and Rellia immediately departed to the location given. Even if there was trap waiting for them…something like that would matter if they were weak enough to fall for it.
Lidaz as a new Immortal aside…Rellia was far from weak.
And that was only taking her personal strength into consideration. She did not like the idea of calling for help herself but she was no stranger to it, and if the problems reached beyond her and Lidaz’s capabilities she knew could likely bring half of Planet Infernal here if she said the right things.
If it was just for her? support like that simply wouldn’t arrive unless a Matriarch or Patriarch called for it.
But the fact it was the people of a Patriarch in trouble? The newest and youngest Patriarch at that? Thinking it through now she realized she was short sighted. Depending on what the she said…wouldn’t Acuva be gone before the day was over?
Those were the type of monsters who lived on Planet Infernal.
And she was in the process of helping save people one of those future monsters considered dear.
Thoughts of death and all things related to murder and destruction now swirled beautifully in her mind.
