257. I Dare, You Dare, We all Dare (Book Four)

I was already moving towards where Frian and the others were, but someone dressed in some sort of leather armor stepped in front of me and tried to extend an arm in my direction.

  “Stand dow-”

  Swish

  “Ahhhh!!!!”

Before he could finish his first sentence, his arm was separated from his shoulder, and while his screams still lingered in the air his head was also removed from his body.

Vrusha and the others could feel my emotions quite clearly and were acting accordingly.

In fact, I think an entire squad of those guards were ceased to exist by the time I reached the side of my people.

The chains around them burned to nothingness as I stood before them.

“I think that’s enough of your tantrum.”

A voice not belonging to any one of my people cut through the air with a smooth almost disdainful tone to it.

Not only that, but I could also feel my flames themselves being pushed back around a certain group of people standing nearby.

But I ignored them for now, only focusing on Frian and the others.

  “Tell me.”

He was mostly uninjured save for a few scratches on his face, but it was the dirt still clinging to all of their faces that caused me the most anger. Even Frian himself, I saw it was not just anger he felt, but immense shame and a sense of weakness.

I did my best not to ever pry into my people’s lives through the flames as I didn’t like the invasion of privacy, but this was not a typical moment. I felt everything.

“Patriarch…it was the guard of the man who just spoke.”

His voice came out weak, as if even the act of speaking caused him immense shame.

I placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed.

“Never again, Frian…I swear this day, that you will never be made to kneel or bow again.”

I then turned to group nearby.

It was roughly 30 people or so, about 15 of them looked to be guards of some sort, most of the rest appeared to be servants or assistants, while one of them, a man with greyish skin and golden eyes, who looked at me as if he was watching a children’s play.

Completely disregarding even the people I came with.

  Alright then.

Since this isn’t enough to worry him.

“Here me now Azh’Kharel and Descend.”

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

A word I hadn’t uttered in a long time, left my lips, and this time it wasn’t just the immediate area that descended into darkness from just my flames, this time it was everything.

The entire City before me and the all that stood around it for miles became nothing but darkness as the presence of the Eternal Flame itself answered my call and turned its attention to me.

Once again the world began to crack and creak under the pressure of something it could not contain.

Even though this was just its presence, even though this Universe should’ve been far more equipped to handle things of this nature compared to that of Earth, it still was nowhere near enough.

All the people here, below a certain realm immediately fell to their knees, and I could see the guards, particularly the only one who was an Immortal scrambling and yelling all manner of things as the weight of the Eternal Flame pressed down onto him and the grey stone man he was protecting.

Barely a second later, a few more presences appeared from nowhere into the area.

Three of them in total, one had similar greyish skin to the man who spoke earlier, while the other two also had reddish skin, but they also contained a myriad of tribal like white markings.

  “WHO DARES ATTACK MY KINGDOM?!”

The voice of one of them boomed so loud that my ears directly burst.

But that was when another voice descended. One that felt as much like family the first time I heard it.

  “Quiet.”

Silence resounded in the area, and not even the wind dared to move without permission.

  “Hmm…I see…I see…speak your quarrel my child.”

“They dared to make my people bow.”

There was no real indication or any sort of visual indication to show me anything, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt that the Eternal Flame was doing its own version of a frown right now.

  “None shall interfere.”

  DROVAKH

The same armor I used to fight that Vamp Immortal once again formed around my body.

What followed after that…was a man who had held in his anger for far too long and was releasing it without a single iota of hesitation.

The first man, who had that greyish skin color was in the Nascent Soul Realm. No matter how much he struggled, there was nothing he could do to stop me. I beat him and beat him and beat him so more.

But I did not take his life.

This was just a beating of anger.

Once I was satisfied, a single spear formed of Eternal Flames appeared in my hand.

Then I turned to the guard who was standing there with gritted teeth and anger coloring his features as he tried to move but clearly could not.

A single swipe was all it took.

  And his head went flying.

There was far more anger boiling in my body than this but dragging this on longer than I needed to would only bring more problems. The person responsible was dead, and another had received a proper beating.

But deep down…if I was stronger…strong enough to erase this Kingdom from the face of this planet…

  …I’ll end those thoughts there…

I took a deep breath…and with it, the flames I spread around the area began to disperse, and the presence of the Eternal Flame too began to wane, there were no more words said between us, but there was no need.

I could feel the grip of unconsciousness trying to take me one again, but I forced back, at least for the moment. There was still things to handle here.

“An answer. My son was beaten, and a subordinate killed. I NEED AN ASNWER AS TO WHY.”

  My response quick and cold.

“He dared to make my people kneel.”

It looked as if he was about to say something along the lines of ‘just for that?’, but the man who yelled about his Kingdom earlier cut him off.

  “End this matter here.”

The apparent father clearly had more to say, but the look of who I presume to be King here shut him up. All he did was stare at me in anger and hate.

I see that there will be a problem there.

One I will deal with in due time.

For now, I simply turned around and began walking back to the place we will call home.

There were no more words said, and the walk was silent for a good while until well I couldn’t push it off anymore. Someone caught me as I began to fall and before I realized, the world had gone dark and I was unconscious.

It seems I’m still far from being strong enough to wield that power properly.

  …

By the time I awoke…I found myself in the comfort of a cloud of a bed, covered in the silkiest sheets I had ever seen. They felt as if they were caressing my entire body.

  “Where am I?”
